  • Popis: Crowds cheer the procession, which is led by Belgian Cavalry, followed by a car loaded with flowers and then King Albert and Queen Elisabeth riding in the midst of civil and military dignitaries. The King is in Belgian Army uniform with a shrapnel helmet. Riding with the King are the Duke of Brabant, Princess Marie Josée, and the other royal children. The British dignitaries in the contingent are the Duke of York, along with Brigadier-General the Earl of Athlone, Admiral Sir Roger Keyes, and three Army commanders, Generals Plumer, Birdwood and Horne. The parade continues to march past. Apart from the Belgians there are US and French troops (one French contingent includes a black soldier) and British soldiers, including kilted Highlanders. (The film is broken at this point by an extraneous scene of German 150mm guns on railway trucks captured in the Forêt du Nord on 21st November.) The main party forms up as a group, the King and Queen dismount and the King talks with the city dignitaries. The procession then continues as the royal party, all remounted, form again in a group for photographs to be taken. Civilian and military photographers, and one cameraman, surge forward to take pictures. The King and Queen are shown in close-up. The procession passes in review before the royal party. The camera, panning over the group, picks out Generals Plumer and Birdwood together.
